Nepal disaster authority reports 1,114 dead after Bhotekoshi–Trishuli floods; pastors say churches were hit

Nepal’s disaster authority reported 1,114 deaths, 3,916 people missing, and 11,993 rescued after the August 26 Bhotekoshi–Trishuli floods. Local pastors say churches were destroyed and members remain missing. Samaritan’s Purse has begun relief. Casualty figures were still changing, and church-specific losses had not been independently audited.
